dog whisperer holistic training
I have an extensive background in animal behavior. Having grown up on a farm,  I started riding horses before I could walk and dogs were my siblings! Interactions with animals were always natural and easy for me.
After high school I studied veterinary nursing and worked in private practice as well as at NYC's Animal Medical Center, where surgery and dentistry were my passions.  I worked with large and small animals at the San Diego Zoo and shelter dogs in different parts of the country and studied T-Touch.   I continue to learn more, with a voracious reading appetite for anything concerning canine behavior, nutrition or ways to heal with Traditional Chinese Medicine's acupressure and herbs, and other natural remedies.

Photography is another area of interest for me.  I excelled in photography and art beginning in grade school, winning various competitions and awards.  I enjoy capturing the character of animals in photographs.

I'm "mom" to 3 spotted dogs, 2 are Dalmatians and one is a terrier  mix who came from the last shelter I worked at.  My Dalmatian "son"  Mars has had an illustrious career as a model, actor and voice-over artist.  My Dalmatian "daughter" Luna Lu is a rescue from Brooklyn, she is known as "Princess Queen" around here and also enjoys modeling.  They both love agility and rally training.   And Astro, the JRTxACD--that's Jack Russell and Australian Cattle Dog mix--is working on his earthdog titles with AWTA.  He's a rising star!

I am a member of the Palisades Kennel Club, North American Dog Agility Councils, American Working Terrier Association, and the Association of Pet Dog Trainers #2663.

I hope to see you and your dog soon for some fun and adventure!
Dear Connie

You should know that I learned more in the hour and a half I just spent with you than in the 8 weeks I spent going to  that _____ store class.
I am so glad we found you and got your help.  My dog Stella is making progress now.  I feel like I got more than my money's worth today and wish I had known about you before wasting time and money at _____.  The short drive to work with you was worth the trip.
Thank you for your help!

Sincerely,

Tina C.

"Hi Connie!  I got your message and everything is going great.  Rocky is now 100% responding to his name, "sit" and "down"  He is slowly but surely getting "off" - -he also understands "leave it" as well!

Thanks for your help!"

"I had a great time last wednesday.  I really learned a lot from you.  I
think the most important thing to teach sadie at this point is her release
command.  she has a bad habit of ending a command herself, and it never
occurred to me to give her a command for it.  we have lots of work to do!
especially if we want to start agility!!  Thanks again for the training session.
p.s.  the articles you are sending me are great!!  keep them coming!"

"I am definitely going to arrange for a learning lesson for our members with you because in the few emails I have learned so much and would like to have an opportunity to meet you and thank you in person. Thanks again!"

"Thanks again a great beginner training class.  We all really enjoyed it!  It's been great not only to learn to communicate with each other, but has really made Oscar more confident with other dogs.
If you ever need a reference for people who are considering taking one of your classes, please don't hesitate to use us (although I'm sure you've had MANY satisfied clients).
We've been incorporating the lessons into our daily routine.  Still working on the release word (somehow, we have to ingrain it in our brains to use it every time).  Oscar's really mellowed out and responds when we talk to him--tow of my goals for the class.  We couldn't be happier (and he seems pretty pleased with himself too!).
Looking forward to future classes.  Thanks again for everything."
Catie, Max, and Oscar

"Ollie is doing really well. For the most part, I'm
amazed how well behaved he is for a five and a half
month old pup.  He is so smart.  He definitely has
retained what he learned with you.  We just have to
conquer those occasional puppy crazies.  Thank you for
all the info.  It is really helpful."

"Connie, Hi!  I just wanted to thank you for the wonderful sessions. We (Rene and I) learned a lot from you...as well as Max!
Thank you so much! We will keep in contact with you!"

"Hi Connie.  Just want to drop you a line and give you an update on Reggie.
You will be very happy to know that he now plays well with other dogs.  He
can usually last in a room with is brother for about 15 - 20 minutes;
however, when he has had enough he lets Snoopy know.  He is also doing all
of his commands; he is having a little trouble with the 'stay' when he gets
excited but other than that he does OK.  I actually entered him in a
'Cutest Pet' contest!"
Thanks,
Kelly A.

"I'm a big fan of yours Connie. i will gladly and confidently make a referral whenever I can.
take care!"
