Agility 101
For beginners, regardless of age. Puppies under one year of age jump elbow height, according to NADAC rules. The class is a low, slow intro. to all the equipment, done on leash. The class notes include rules and regulations for each contact and I can’t help but toss in some holistic pre-run stretches, post-run massage, nutrition and natural health maintenance tips! The importance of Solid basic obedience work is stressed. By the end of the 6 week session dogs should be confidently performing all the equipment at some level.
Agility 102
Dogs should have been introduced to all equipment and be comfortable with most of the contacts and jumps, though not necessarily at full height. It is typical to find that the Teeter may still need work and the Weave Poles are still being learned. Dogs should be able to stay with the handler for short sequences off leash. This class will develop handling and teamwork.
Agility 103
Dogs should be comfortable on all equipment although they may still need to work on the weave poles. Longer sequences will be used. Dogs must to be able to work sequences completely off-leash. This is a pre competition level class, regardless of whether or not the teams intend to compete. This class will continue to build teamwork and enable handlers to develop basic handling/course strategy skills.
Agility 104
For dogs competing in Novice or able to successfully run a Novice-level course. There should be no equipment issues at this level.
