The course is offered as a private consult at this time; attention to improving basic obedience skills, management techniques and a review of necessary items to help with the transition are included. Common mistakes and ways to avoid them are discussed. The goal is to prepare expectant parents and their furkid for the new arrival. Notes are included, for your review.
The initial consult is 1.5 hours. Day, evening and weekend appointments are available.
Kids and K-9’s
It is important to build a successful relationship between a child and a dog through positive, motivational training. This is a 6-week course for puppies who are at least 3 months of age and older — and your child!
Children must be 8 years or older to handle the dog and one or both parents must attend the class.
Children will learn how to play with their dog and the other dogs properly and parents will help run interference.
The children will learn how to teach their dog some of the basics: sit, down, come, off, leave it and take it. Some tricks will be taught before the class is finished and children will be encouraged to continue working towards goals with their dogs. Questions about safety around dogs will be addressed and children will recieve a dog safety coloring book to review.
