Group or Private, Basic or Accelerated, Special Ed. & Rally Obedience

Group Obedience 101
The class meets for 6 sessions/1 hour per week and includes detailed notes on everything we cover in basic obedience (attention lessons, name/recall, sit, down, etc.) as well as detailed handouts on any “issues” that may need work. The group class also provides the extremely important education of social contact with other dogs. Lack of social skills is a major cause of aggression, fear and inability to cope in the real world. Group classes help both the dog and the person to better understand and deal with canine behavior. If your dog already “knows” basic obedience, we can see where improvements might be made. We will also go over diet/nutrition and how that can effect a dog. And I will go over some natural remedies that may be helpful with your dog–things that can’t hurt but might help, including Ttouch methods, which you can learn to do and continue at home, helpful during stressful situations.

Group Obedience 102
The class meets for 6 sessions/1 hour per week and includes detailed notes on everything we cover.  This class is an excellent choice for those who have taken private obedience consultations and wish to work in a more challenging, group class. Or for those who have attended classes elsewhere and need training!  Attention skills, recall, leash walking, Rally Obedience and AKC Canine Good Citizens Testing will be practiced.  This will prepare teams to pass the AKC/CGC test, as well as enter the Rally Accelerated class.  It will give teams a chance to firm up on basic obedience skills.

Private Consultations
3 sessions lasting 3.5 hours total; you get everything the basic obedience/6 session class gets in half the time, privately, as needed. Scheduling is flexible, days or evenings available for those with difficult schedules.  Concentrated attention to issues; dogs with difficulties do well with privates.
